Training
I offer full voice-hearing facilitator training.
An outline of one of our previous workshops
Learning about, and working with, voice-hearers.
The aim is to support, guide and teach facilitators to work with voice-hearers,
either individually, or in respect of establishing groups.
Module 1: comprises three days
- Introduction to hearing-voices approach, including the history and development, based on Marius Romme and Sandra Eschers’ “Making Sense of Voices
- Core Concepts of the approach – new ways in which to understand the experience, and how to relate to voice-hearers.
- Investigating the traditional understanding of “auditory hallucinations”, studies, research etc.
Module 2: comprises three days
- Cultural aspects of hearing voices.
- What is it really like – Voice-hearers share their experiences.
- Self Help Groups – value, form, the ‘Aarhus model’
- Being a facilitator.
- Working with the Maastricht Interview – practical demonstration and group work.
- Introduction to Voice Dialogue training, developed by Dirk Corstens (Psychiatrist)
Module 3: comprises three days
- Practical, individual, and group work with voice hearers;
- (Working through the construct and talking with voices).
- Review of the Maastricht interviews’ three phases.
- Developing and implementing interview skills with a voice-hearer.
- Report.
- Construction.
A more detailed program for each day will be posted before training starts.
Teachers:
Overall responsibity for training: Trevor Eyles, Voice-Hearing Consultant, Aarhus.
On-going guidance and counseling to students individually, and in groups, by Trevor Eyles.
Guest teachers: voice-hearers and former voice-hearers, as well as former students who have undergone training in Aarhus.
3 modules of 3 days – plus a follow-up day: total of 10 days
